Escambia and Autauga seemingly on crash course

AISA Football Poll

Story by Griffin Pritchard | Publisher

CENTRAL ALABAMA SCOREBOARD OFFICE — The stakes have just been raised for the Escambia / Autauga game scheduled for later in the season. The Cougars – who ran for 395 yards on a one-sided win over Patrician – will travel down to Autauga County on October 8. Autauga Academy seems to be back in championship form after traveling to Florida and handling business against Chiles High. Pike Liberal, Chambers and Morgan (rounding out the top five) are poised to reap the benefits from the showdown between the league’s top-ranked teams.

Looking below the poll and there’s a couple of familiar faces lurking: Edgewood and Macon-East were the Coverage Community’s top vote getters. New to the party is Banks Academy. The Jets – depending on how their season shapes up over these next few weeks – could position themselves for their first berth into the AISA Class AA playoffs.
