CENTRAL ALABAMA SCOREBOARD OFFICE – Marbury High celebrated their seniors and first area victory all on the same night with a 3-1 win over Jemison in front of the Bulldogs Faithful Thursday night.
“Our girls played their hearts out,” said Kristen Peek, coach of the Bulldogs. “It was our first home game, our first area and senior night. So, it was a big night for us. They did a lot of things well and came together for the win.”
The Bulldogs fell behind early in the match, dropping the first set to Jemison 27-25. They rallied to win the next three sets 25-23, 28-26 and 25-23 to secure the victory.
Peek: “I’m so proud of the drive and the fight these girls had. They got behind a couple of times but never gave up. It was awesome to see. Going into next week we know we need to work on communication and out-of-system setting. We’ve started watching film on our next opponents and we will be ready.”
